MWCC Tuesday Ride
Hosted by Madison Women's Cycling Club and Bombay Bicycle Club
Celebrate Bike Week with a MWCC Tuesday evening ride! Meet at Olbrich Park (lake side/Biergarten parking lot) for wheels out at 6pm. We always offer two rides: a long ride, which is the Cottage Grove ride this week, and a social ride, which is always the Lake Loop and always has a sweet. After the ride, we hang out at the Biergarten and enjoy sunset on the lake!

Please bring: a helmet, a cue sheet/route map/have it on your phone (the Lake Loop is signed) and flat fix gear (or another way to get home if you flat).
Optional: water, an ID to get into the Biergarten if you’re joining post-ride (they will NOT let you in without one, even if you do not purchase alcohol), $ for purchases at the Biergarten, food/non-alcoholic beverages for post-ride. (Biergarten policy is that you can carry in any food/non-alcoholic drink).

Our rides are all leader-less, so we take off together and then people separate into natural pace groups. Our long ride does not have a sweep but our social ride does.

Long ride: 20mi, no sweep, ride your own pace (usually 12-17+ mph) RideWithGPS route

Social ride: 13mi, ~10-14mph (can be slower or faster!), always the Lake Loop which is signed. This ride always has a sweep! Our sweep rides at least as slow as the slowest riders. If you don’t know the route or are new-ish to biking and want to ensure you have a riding partner, that’s what our sweep is for! (Please note, our sweep is not responsible for fixing mechanical issues. She will stay with you and try to help fix things or wait until you can get a ride home).
